Student Agreement of Otter.ai Recording and Transcription of Class Lectures

The Otter.ai transcription software may only be used by students approved for Otter.ai as a disability accommodation to record and transcribe class lectures for their personal use to study and prepare for Law School classes in which they are registered.  I understand and acknowledge the following:

  1. I will use recordings and the resulting transcribed text of class lectures solely for my personal use to study and prepare for classes in which I am registered.
  2. I will not share the recordings and/or the transcribed text of the lectures with any other person at any time or in any form.
  3. I acknowledge that my professor(s) will be informed that I have been permitted to use the Otter.ai software to record and transcribe lectures and demonstrations.
  4. I will delete all recordings and transcriptions I make when I no longer need them for my class work.
  5. I acknowledge the recordings and resulting transcribed texts are sources for use in the course and are governed by rules and policies of LMU- Loyola Law School (LLS).
  6. I will manage the recording device in a way that does not disturb others or call attention to the fact that I am recording a lecture.
  7. I understand that if I violate this agreement and/or the policies of LMU- Loyola Law School that I will no longer be allowed the use of Otter.ai or be permitted to record and transcribe lectures for any class.  Violations of this agreement may be referred for a Standard of Conduct review and possible discipline.
